Initially, Naudia stated that she grew up wanting to become a trigonometry teacher because of her love for one of her math teachers; however, when Naudia had to go to the NICU to visit a family member one day, she told me she fell in love with wanting to learn more about how children develop. Furthermore, she said the moment she saw that little baby lying in the incubator, she knew medicine was the path she wanted to take. After her years of schooling, Naudia moved from southern Mississippi to Memphis to begin her career as a nurse. Then, Naudia worked as a bedside nurse for a while and also as a NICU nurse for a bit but then went on to become a nurse practitioner. Though Naudia initially wanted to become a neonatal nurse practitioner, the jobs were limited, so she decided to become a family nurse practitioner since the hours were more flexible, and the jobs were more available. Currently, Naudia works at Le Bonheur Children's Hospital as a family nurse practitioner in the Anesthesiology Department, and she is going back to school this upcoming fall of 2016 to work on receiving her doctorate.
